When is the Australian WPGA Championship and the Festival of Golf?

Both the Australian WPGA Championship and the Festival of Golf will be held at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast, from Thursday 19 March – Sunday 22 March 2026.

Both the Australian WPGA Championship and the Festival of Golf will be held at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast. The Australian WPGA Championship will be played on The Palms Golf Course. The Festival of Golf will be held in and around The Marine Village at Sanctuary Cove. 

6.00am – 6.00pm on Thursday & Friday
6.30am – 4.00pm on Saturday
Play finished by 4.00pm on Sunday
(Times subject to change)

The Festival of Golf opening and closing times are:
Thursday 19 March – Saturday 21 March 2026: 11:00am – 6:00pm
Sunday 22 March 2026: 11:00am – 5:00pm
Note, times are in Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST)

Yes, both the Australian WPGA Championship and the Festival of Golf is a free event. You will not need a ticket to get into the events.

Absolutely! The Festival of Golf is all about bringing the fun to golf and welcoming non-golfers. There’s plenty for the whole family to enjoy, including a dedicated kids zone with interactive activities for all ages.

Yes. The Village precinct offers flat, level surfaces and wide pedestrian pathways, making it accessible for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and prams.

All Marine Village carparks (except the carpark behind Cove Tavern and a small section of the main Village Carpark) will be open as per usual. There will also be overflow parking behind the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort that will have shuttle buses to/from the existing bus stop. Alternatively, it’s a 300m short walk from the overflow parking to the Village.

Yes, Bus Route 711 operates between Sanctuary Cove and Southport. There is currently no direct train or tram access to the venue.

Yes! The festival is family-friendly, with activities suitable for children and young adults alongside full festival experiences for both golf and non-golf fans.

The Festival will go ahead rain, hail, or shine. We recommend checking the weather forecast before you arrive and dressing accordingly to stay comfortable throughout the day.

Sunday 8 March: Carpark behind Cove Tavern will be closed
Thursday 12 March: Setting up of the event will commence
Friday 13 March: A small section of the front Village carpark will be unavailable for use
Thursday 19 – Sunday 22 March: Festival of Golf takes place
Sunday 22 – Tuesday 24 March: Event pack down
Wednesday 25 March: Carpark behind Cove Tavern and the main Village carpark will return as per normal
